More transparency on the breakfast table

The Tagesschau (German TV) reported on January 31st. dJ on a new regulation of the labeling requirement for honey. We welcome this very much. The following is the original text of the message:

Where does the honey on the supermarket shelf come from? This is not always clear, especially with honey mixtures. The EU has decided that this should now change. But there are exceptions.

In future, the country of origin must be clearly stated on the packaging of honey. Negotiators from the EU states and the European Parliament have agreed on this, according to information from the parliament and the EU states.

So far, the only thing that has to be stated for honey mixtures is whether it comes from the EU or not. Now it should be made clear how large the proportion of honey from each country is.

Finally, it should be noted that this initiative was placed by Hungary in the EU Parliament three years ago. We are happy about that too.
